All About Plastic Pallets And Where To
Buy
Information about the use of plastic pallets,
common questions about plastic pallets and more.
Plastic
pallets are just as durable as wood pallets even
though they weigh less.
While the capacity of the pallet will vary
depending on who manufactured them, plastic pallets
can handle heavy loads and stand up to a great
variety of temperature changes. They can usually go
through sleet, snow, wind, rain, hail, and extreme
sunshine without warping or cracking. You don’t have
to worry about leaving these pallets outside.
Plastic pallets are molded by their manufacturers in
a variety of countries. There are different
processes that manufacturers can use, some use a
melted plastic resin that is injection molded, some
weld the plastic pallets together in a process
called thermo-molding, while still others use a
combination of different manufacturing processes.
Pallets are always created to match particular
specifications needed by the load they are designed
to carry, such as boxes, bottles, cans, or other
items. There are also pallet containers made from
plastic. These have either removable sides or hopper
fronts.
There are a variety of types of plastic pallets,
just like with wood pallets. Some of the varieties
include stringer pallets, block pallets, and nest
able pallets. Nest able pallets take up much less
space than other pallets when they are stored when
not in use. Plastic pallets are created without
nails, so you don’t have to worry about injuries to
handling personnel. No matter what the
specifications or size, plastic pallets always weigh
less than wood pallets. They also don’t splinter and
will not have sharp edges unless they have been
damaged, which is highly unlikely.
